Cake friends,
Tough Cookie is off the press and en route to our fulfillment centers now, which means one thing: Itâs time to party.
Weâre throwing one of our signature blow-out NYC launch parties on December 14, with a packed lineup of sweets and treats at 49 Elizabeth St in Manhattan. Weâll have early copies of Tough Cookie and our new shirt designed in collaboration with Social Species, plus our archive of merch and much more.
Itâs a special holiday party theme, and weâre going all out with tattoos inspired by the issue from Evelyn Wang, a make-your-own zine stand from Shrimp Zine, holiday cheer from drag queen Steak Diane, and lots of desserts from 99 (Mina Park), Laurie Ellen Pellicano, Noreen Wasti, The Good Batch, and Julie Saha (Food Bebo). This is our first time selling tickets for a large-scale launchâand if youâve been to one of our parties before, you know weâll hit capacityâso buy yours to secure a spot now. We canât wait to celebrate with you.
And if youâre in London or have any friends there, weâre popping up across the pond with two special events next week. Weâre bringing early copies of Tough Cookie to Oranj wine bar on December 6, alongside special cookies from Mitshel Ibrahim of Forno and a viral crĂšme brĂ»lĂ©e cookie from Chloe-Rose Crabtree of Bake St London, which appears in the issue. The next night, Cake Zine co-editor Aliza Abarbanel is leading a conversation with contributor Felicity Spector at Maximillian William gallery, tied to our new curation on their installation The Shelf.
Both London events are free to attend but space is limited, so RSVP here for Oranj and RSVP here for Maximillian William. Got any London recs for us? Send them our way, and keep an eye out for more news soon.
The launch party sounds fab! Wishing we could teleport from Portland to be there. Congrats on the new volume!
Do you have a cheaper shipping option for London orders yet. Are there any to buy in physical shops filling the launch pop up?
